6th Grade: Dia de los Muertes Calaveras

After learning about Dia de los Muertes and the sugar skulls, student created their own calaveras using model magic and sharpies.  We looked at many Mexican cultural symbols and colors to get ideas.  Students had to incorporate at least one cultural symbol from their own culture in their design.
